Information About Us

Just another summary of NaiCode. A lot about us is what we have done so far, which is in our blog!

Naicode is a community-based organization in Nairobi aimed at empowering youth through technology. The NaiCode team ran a 9 week coding camp from July 2016 to September 2016, and established and runs a coding club in Precious Blood Riruta. NaiCode has also partnered with Safaricom's Women in Technology Academy to participate as technical instructors. Our near-future plans are establishing NaiCode clubs in the three major Kenyan Universities: University of Nairobi, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, and Technical University, as well as expand our high school program to Starehe Boys Center. Here is our journey.

Visit our blog page to catch up on what we hvae been up to as NaiCode.

Our Story

A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. This, is our journey!..

Started Our Journey

An organization can never be made of one person. So we had to gather a troop big enough to bring the confidence of a good beginning. Making a good beginning!.

Enough people were gathered, and the ship was ready to sail. The journey began.

Not all could sustain the challenges. A little sand fell along the way, but atleast the Lorry was never empty when it reached the construction site. People sighed!

Our journey is full of hiccups; just like any other, but do we despare? No, never!. The pot shall never break, atleast not at the door step!

NaiCode is now the thing. A baby has been born. And, this is a our life!

Partnership with Africa's Talking

When we first visited this big thing, Africa's Talking, we knew nothing good would come up. After a short session of interaction, we realized that we shared the goals of giving back to the sociey.

Our way of doing this was stretching our able hands to the highschools that are willing. Precious Blood Riruta came through as the first high school to benefit from our mission!

We secured a partnership with Africa's Talking for the common goal of spreading the techyDev gospel. It just marked the beginning! And here we go!

Precious Blood Riruta coding club

We started the coding club at Precious Blood Riruta with the aim of getting as many students to love coding as possible. We used the computer club members and any other students who would be willing.

There was a really positive response which encouraged the Naicode developers. We received the challenges positively! The club developed foundation in the coding line and that's the most important thing to us.

By then it was the best we had ever achieved!

Safaricom WIT Program

One of the greatest achievements was participating in the Safaricom Women in Tech Program. Developers from Naicode gave a big hand in the training of the women on how to code in Java.

The exercise was a success, in fact the most succesful, till the end!

Starehe Boys Centre Tech Hub Initiative

Our latest journey focusses in teaching the students of the Tech Hub club on how to code in Java. We got to engage with boys who're so much wiling to learn and this motivates us a lot.

We commenced at the fundamentals of Java, and are targetting at covering all the Java essentials before getting into another language. OUr dream is to see the Tech Hub club grow to more than just a school club.
